Champion Menswear Project
For this Champion Menswear project I wanted to really look at every detail of the range, that is why I have left the sketches black and white so you can really see the detail in the designs.
While fabric is so important to a garment and so is the styling and details. Today we are seeing styling going much more simpler and making the fabric do the work, yet there is still a strong market out there what wants both. A strong combination of detailed styling and beautiful fabric’s really create a substantial collection. Of course with such detailing and quality in fabric comes a higher price point and so this range would sit near brands such as Stone Island, Universal Works, and Swedish brand Klattermusen, to name a few. With a specific customer in mind for this type of product one that can easily afford this higher price point with a little more disposable income to hand.
Strong, bold graphics add another dimension to the once simple jersey crew neck tee while using a simple clean colour palette really making a statement. This consumer has a strong interest in fashion, art and music culture really making an impact with his everyday look.
Combining fabrics also creates a strong look for this range, while tying the range together and keeping fabric minimums down.
For this range I have drawn up a very detailed hooded coat, funnel neck jacket, simple windcheater jacket, straight leg jeans, and a classic zip through hood. I believe these core pieces will create a strong capsule collection which will sit back with simpler classic shapes really creating a strong branded look for the consumer.
