Boys Nightwear Range
Spring Summer 2017 Boys Nightwear Range
At the beginning of a new project when working with a customer I always start with pulling together the initial trends for the season. Although some seasons there can be 4 or 5 trends but with the customer only wanting to buy into the most strongest looks for the season. During my research into spring summer 2017 I did discover more than the 2 trends I have developed in this range but chose to only work into the strongest looks within boys nightwear.
Shark Attack and creature comfort, looking at sharks, palm trees waves and the ocean, all the sights and sounds of the high summer.
Print and dye techniques work well into this trend, I especially liked having fun with all the dye techniques, during my many trips to dye houses in Sri Lanka, a country that does this look so well, with fantastic dye effects its really one of my favourite places in a dye house discovering new techniques that I can bring back to my work, the ombre sprayed look and dip dye still strong, tie-dye has made a real comeback across kids wear and menswear and has a really effective look.
Texture within jersey is important also in this boys spring summer range, as we are seeing more and more texture within jersey again across boys wear and menswear, really adds depth and interest to a simple shape. Also the fabric interest adds that added value to the customer, thinking they are actually getting more for their money. Resulting in this once simple fabric composition to a much more complex structure which is very exciting to me!
